CHILD PORN CHARGES FOR #DOCTOR, WHO #ADMITS #TAKING PHOTOS OF #YOUNG #PATIENTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A doctor from Wayne County is facing child pornography charges in a case that is “extremely disturbing” to child advocates and federal investigators, who ask that anyone in Clyde and the surrounding community come forward with information or if they need help.

David D. Blasczak, M.D., who practices at Clyde Family Health Center and is also an adjunct professor at RIT, is charged with receiving and possession of child pornography.

Blasczak’s Clyde Family Health Center provides both adult and pediatric care, and it’s there that the U.S. Attorney said Blasczak paid parents of patients on eight occassions to photograph children’s genitals, under the guise of independent medical research, which James Kennedy said was not sanctioned by any hospital, university or other medical organization.

The 69-year-old Blasczak denied abusing any of his child patients in an interview with federal agents, which was brought on by an investigation into an online child pornography dealer. The U.S. Attorney said that Blasczak’s credit card was used this past fall to make 10 purchases from the website.

A search warrant at Blasczak’s home in Newark turned up more than 1,000 images across a laptop, digital camera, thumb drives and memory sticks and it was during the interview that federal officials said that Blasczak admitted he kept the photographs of children taken in his office for his own gratification.

Prosecutors said Blasczak also admitted to sexually abusing friends of his children during sleepovers at their home.

“At this stage, we believe there is a high probability that members of the local community have been impacted by the doctor’s actions. Accordingly, it is important that anyone with specific knowledge come forward and assist us in this matter,” said Matthew Scarpino, with the Department of Homeland Security.

Officials are asking anyone whose children may have had unsupervised contact with the doctor to call (716) 464-5931.

Blasczak is being held without bail.
