Lakeview #teacher arrested, #accused of #kissing teen #student in #class

LAKEVIEW, La. —
A middle school social studies teacher in Lakeview is under arrest for his alleged involvement with a teenage student.

Matthew Nesser, 34, was a teacher at Edward Hynes Charter School until the school confirmed in a voice message sent to parents that he was fired after being charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Court documents show Nesser, who is married, reportedly kissed a 14-year-old student on the lips five times this year while inside the school building.

Nesser’s arrest warrant also details deeper allegations from the teen student. She claimed he told her he loved her, cried to her on multiple occasions, and urged her to keep their relationship a secret until was she was “older.” Nesser allegedly warned the girl he would “get mad” if she “betrayed his trust and told” anyone about their “relationship.”

The documents also details allegations that Nesser bought the student books, jewelry, cards and chocolates for her birthday and Valentine’s Day.

Nesser was in court Tuesday. Bond was set at $12,500.
