Many of us find it hard to read the newspaper and watch TV news because of the negativity found therein. Murder, rape, child abuse, theft, battery and all around evil abounds in this once great nation of laws and values.
The laws are still here but values, not so much. Because of this, laws are broken and our jails and prisons are overflowing. It’s hard to imagine why so many citizens do not equate evil with the lack of God in our lives. Instead, many try to drive Christianity out of the public marketplace so that nothing will stand in the way of fun, frivolity and frolic.
Churches should be seen but not heard from, (Freedom from Religion). Christians must be silenced in schools and public venues. No prayers allowed where someone with tender ears nay be offended. Chaplains in our armed services may not use Christ in their discussions and prayers must be screened for ;threatening” language .
Preachers must refrain from hate speech, such as reading bible verses such as Romans 1:26-271 and 1 Timothy 1:10, pertaining to God’s hatred of homosexuality. Politicians must refrain from admitting their stand against gay marriage and their pro life stance or risk losing elections.
John Stonestreet had a nice article in the Times Record News Friday, “Drop in Church Attendance bad news”. Probably some reading it would consider it good news. However, every church that fails puts more young people on the streets where they can team up with those of no precious faith with values to protect them from exposure to and commission of evil.
Is that what you really want your children to do? If not, then please cut us some slack and quit bad-mouthing Christians and calling for new laws allowing infant killing, gay marriages and supporting the teaching of such atrocities along with the humanistic theory of evolution .Even if you are not a believer, your concern for your family and property should persuade you that biblical teaching may prevent your child from following the crowd and ending up in jail.
This is not to say non-Christians are not good. Many are good people, maybe more than some church goers. However, the only hope for one’s eternal salvation lies in the acceptance of the free gift of Jesus Christ and baptism into His Church.
