More than 50 new charges laid against child porn suspect in Winnipeg

Police have laid more than 50 additional charges against a suspect relating to the sexual exploitation of underage girls.

Kevin John Rose, 42,  currently in custody as part of a previous investigation, and has been the subject of a lengthy investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU).

During the course of that investigation, which started in December 2014, several computers were among the items seized. The CEU and Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) have now examined the computers and believe they have identified six underage female victims and an adult female victim.

Rose is now facing a long list of charges in connection to these new alleged victims, including multiple counts of making, possessing and distributing child pornography.

Rose is no stranger to the legal system.

In May 2011, he was found guilty of possessing child porn. He was sentenced to four years and four months in jail but served about half that with time served.

In August 2014 he was acquitted of one charge and several others were stayed against him in a separate exploitation investigation.

He’s also been charged numerous times for breaching terms of his probation over the last several years.
