Radcliff #man to #face #charges in #child porn #case

A Radcliff man arrested Dec. 20 and charged with 100 counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor will appear Friday in Hardin District Court to face the charges.

Anthony Kikta II, 38, who is charged in the case, previously served a four-year prison term for molesting an 8-year-old girl in Washington state and is a registered sex offender.

Kikta was arrested at a North Logsdon Parkway residence by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities found hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on electronic devices at his residence through a search warrant, according to an arrest citation. Some of the images and videos depicted sexual abuse of children and infants.

The files were hidden on a computer at Kikta’s residence, according to an arrest citation. The citation states Kikta told police he would “download large amounts of files.”

Possession or viewing of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted, with a maximum 20-year sentence on the multiple charges, according to a Kentucky Attorney General’s Office news release.

Kikta was convicted in 1998 of child molestation, according to a spokeswoman for the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office. He moved to Kentucky in 2016, according to the news release.

The investigation started when the Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Unit received a tip from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Hardin County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office that Kikta reportedly was trading images of child pornography on the internet.

Kikta is being held in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Friday in Hardin District Court.
