2021-22 school year model to lead SRVUSD’s first board meeting back in person | News | #Education

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting covering school reopenings next year for Tuesday, which will be board members’ first meeting together in person since the pandemic hit.

District officials say they are planning to have students return to full-time, in-person instruction for the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, but for families who wish to remain remote, the district will design a Virtual Academy to accommodate their needs.

Staff say the Virtual Academy is geared toward accommodating students who need to remain home due to medical circumstances or for those who thrived with remote learning; however, it is planned to be made available for all families.

During Tuesday’s meeting, board members are also set to receive an update on California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress and the English Language Proficiency Assessments for Californians exams — which were waived last spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking care of some administrative business, next the board will review the approval of provisional internship permits for district schools.
