The alert went into effect Thursday at 1:48 p.m. and was canceled around 7 p.m.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said Kamerie Elizabeth Elliott of Byron was found safe in Pennsylvania with Guillermo Torres-Acevedo, 22, of Batavia.
Family members of Elliott said the two were in a relationship, and planned to run away together.
Elliott was reported missing from West Bergen Road Thursday morning. Deputies said she and Torres-Acevedo were located by Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield, about 16 miles south of the state line.
New York State Police said Torres-Acevedo was was arraigned in Town of Batavia Court on November 26 on charges of second degree-rape, second-degree criminal sexual act and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The charges followed a complaint from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children involving a child under the age of 16.
Deputies have indicated that Elliott will be transported back to Genesee County, but did not specify when that would happen. Torres-Acevedo was held in Pennsylvania pending extradition proceedings.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and U.S. Secret Service is ongoing. More charges are pending.
