York Regional Police have identified a suspect and laid charges after releasing images of a man wanted in the assault of a teacher at King City Secondary School .

On Nov. 10 shortly before 11:30 a.m., surveillance images captured a man who entered the high school and walked around the first floor before going into a classroom on the second floor and allegedly punching a teacher in the face.

The 37-year-old teacher suffered minor injuries, police said, adding here were no students in the school at the time.

“Thanks to the many tips that were quickly received, the suspect was identified,” police said in a release Friday.

Alexander Kehyeina, 21, of Richmond Hill, surrendered to police in Newmarket and has been charged with assault, mischief, trespass to property, and failure to comply with a continued section order.
