Dad Derek wasn’t impressed after his son managed to steal a bottle of bourbon, forcing him to confront the sitter, but his reaction left people roaring with laughter
Leaving your precious bundle of joy with a babysitter can be a worrying experience for parents.
Will your child be happy? Is the person in charge equipped to manage them? What if there’s an emergency?
This range of fears is a perfectly normal part of being a parent – it’s not easy to leave your children elsewhere, especially when they’re young.
One man was left open-mouthed after his offspring announced that he’d managed to steal a bottle of bourbon while under the watchful eye of his babysitter.
Dad Derek was forced to confront the babysitter through a doorbell camera after his son proudly announced his haul as they were about to leave.
After he asks his son if he had a good time, the young boy replies: “Yes, I got you something!” before pulling out the illicit bottle of booze.
A horrified Derek can be heard saying: “You took bourbon from them?” to which the boy replies: “Yes! I know you like bourbon.”
People were left in stitches at the video – with one parent joking: “I have not trained my daughter well enough. She never brings me liquor from the babysitter’s house.”
Another viewer joked: “If this isn’t my kid I’m returning them.”
In a follow-up video, Derek posted the second part of the clip, where he can be seen apologising directly through a doorbell camera.
He left people roaring with laughter at his apology, which quickly went viral on TikTok.
In it, he said: “I’m bringing back your bourbon. I’m sorry I didn’t do it right away, I was confused, I was shocked, I angry, I was proud at the same time, you saw how happy he was.
“But this is on you too, how could a three-foot six-year-old midget get his hands on some alcohol.
“Do you have a ladder in your kitchen? Is your alcohol on the bottom shelf, come on! All I can picture is him walking around the house smiling, looking for his book bag to hide it in.
“You’ve got to be better or I’m going to find a new babysitter.”
