Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man and woman in Greenville in connection to an ongoing child sex crimes investigation, according to an emailed press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Brooke Alexis Schmitz, 22, and Donovan Jacob Williams, 23, have each been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the first degree, according to warrants.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which came from a social media platform, according to the press release. The tip provided a video that been flagged by a company that contained graphic material involving three young children, roughly ages 4-5, performing sex acts on an adult, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Through evidence available and other resources, investigators were able to identify one of the children in the video and learned the incident took place in Greenville County. Investigators ultimately found Schmitz and Williams at an apartment complex in Greenville, according to the press release.

Sheriff’s Office investigators have accused Schmitz and Williams of committing criminal sexual conduct on multiple children by way of offering child homecare services to parents in need of a babysitter.

Investigators have been able to identify and contact some of the victims’ parents to notify them of their findings, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Schmitz and Williams are currently in the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond, according to jail records.
