A Perth babysitter already accused of sexually assaulting a baby and molesting young children is facing fresh charges in relation to the sexual abuse of two more victims, girls aged five and six.
It is alleged 24-year-old Jareth Thomas Harries-Markham sexually assaulted the two girls while employed as their babysitter in November 2020.
That brings the number of Mr Harries-Markham’s alleged victims to 16 and total number of charges to 232.
The 24-year-old, who is currently in prison, has been charged with four counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years, three counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13 years, and six counts of indecently record a child under 13 years.
The 24-year-old was arrested by child abuse detectives on August 22 at his Bennett Springs home after a police raid of the premises.
During the search officers allegedly seized a quantity of child exploitation material, as well as several gel blasters and “edged weapons”.
In an ad on babysitting website WeNeedANanny.com, Mr Harries-Markham described himself as someone who loved “helping bring up kids to be the best they can be”.
He claimed he had more than four years’ experience as well as his working with children and police checks, and a certificate in first aid.
“I’m a pretty easy going guy who is open to care for any age, any hours,” he wrote in the online advertisement.
Mr Harries-Markham, who is yet to plead, will face Perth Magistrates Court on November 8.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives have urged anyone with information, or any similar incidents, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report it online.
