Baltimore County middle school teacher charged with sexual abuse of student

A teacher at Northwest Academy of Health Sciences is charged with sexually abusing a 13-year-old student, police announced on Thursday.
According to investigators, the abuse took place during school hours and involved kissing and sexual acts in the teacher’s classroom through February and March.
At times the teacher would write hall passes for the student, excusing her from scheduled classes, police noted.
Chadwick F. Zamarron, 35, is charged with sexual abuse of a minor, perverted practice, second- and third-degree sexual offense and sex abuse by a person in authority.
Police say the investigation began last week when the student told her mother about a sex act she had performed on the man.
“During a subsequent interview with a social worker, the girl said that beginning in January 2017 she sent messages sexual in nature to Zamarron via various social media platforms,” police wrote in a release. “After that, a friendship developed that involved verbal, sexual and electronic communication occurring during school hours.”
According to investigators, the relationship turned physical in February.
Zamarron is being held without bail.
