Broken Arrow man charged with child abuse

The Wagoner County District Attorney’s Office has filed child abuse charges against a Broken Arrow man.

Police arrested Jason Billey when his 2-month-old child was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Officers said that the story told by Billey did not match up to the injuries the boy had.

An affidavit said the child suffered bleeding and swelling to his brain and bruising over much of his body.

“It’s just kind of mind boggling,” said Marion Tucker.

Tucker lives in the same neighborhood as Billey.  She did not know him, but said it is still hard to stomach the accusations.

“It’s a scary world we live in,” Tucker said.

Court documents show that the boy’s parents told hospital staff that the child fell down. Billey also allegedly told police he plays rough with boy and “ throws the victims up in the air and does football drills.”

They boy has a twin sister that was taken by DHS and placed in her grandparents’ custody.
