Brownsville ISD teacher charged with improper relationship with student

A Brownsville ISD teacher was arrested Wednesday on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student, a second-degree felony.
Vicente Flores was placed on administrative leave by the school district on Feb. 15 pending the results of the ongoing investigation, according to Drue Brown, the district’s spokeswoman.
Flores was arrested by BISD police officers at the BISD police headquarters, according to Brown.
Flores recently served as a teacher at the Brownsville Learning Academy, an alternative campus for students slightly academically behind their peers. The academy serves grades 7th through 12th.
Flores’s bond was set at $17,000, according to the Brownsville Police Department.
