Two people were injured by gunfire Friday night at Ocala’s Vanguard High School.

Ocala police said that people were leaving the gym after a basketball game when someone fired shots in the parking lot.

One bullet struck a 14-year-old girl in the arm. A 19-year-old woman was injured by flying glass from one of several vehicles that were hit by the unknown number of shots.

Ocala Police Sgt. Steven Cutty told WESH 2 News the injuries were not life-threatening. Cutty said there’s no indication that the females were targeted.

Police said they do not have any suspect or vehicle description, but are working some leads. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Ocala police at 352-369-7000, or Marion County Crimestoppers, at 352-368-STOP.
