MARTINSBURG–A Bunker Hill man faces several charges for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Christopher Lee Myers, 35, of Currituck Court, Bunker Hill, was arraigned Monday on felony charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. He was also arraigned on the misdemeanor charge of possession of child erotica. On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, police received a criminal complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that consisted of five Cyber Tipline Reports indicating lyn.masters3 had uploaded child pornographic images, court records said. Investigation traced the IP address of the computer used to allegedly upload the images to Myers’ address, records said. According to court records, officers conducted surveillance on the residence and observed a blue Dodge Charger backed into a parking spot assigned to the residence. Cpl. F.H. Edwards with the West Virginia State Police said in a criminal complaint that he took over the investigation, and on Oct. 11 and 12 observed the Dodge Charger along with a Ford F-150 registered to Myers.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Oct. 19, Cpl. Edwards, Sgt. L.A. Faircloth and Cpl. R.D. Eshbaugh served a warrant on the residence and Myers opened the door, court records said. “Mr. Myers immediately looked down at the ground (and said), ‘I have some of that here,’” Edwards said in the complaint. Myers agreed to have a conversation with Edwards and admitted to viewing child pornography images and sharing images online “via Skype peer to peer,” court records said. He also advised he had been doing this since the early 2000’s.

Myers was shown images mentioned in an April cybertip, and he admitted to uploading the images to share in exchange to get some in return, records said. He advised he did this at his residence and confirmed his username. Several electronic items were seized including Blue Ray discs with large quantities of data on them, Edwards said in the complaint. “(Edwards) conducted a manual and located 14 child pornography videos which vary in length as short as five seconds to as long as 18:49 in length,” he said in the complaint. According to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records, Myers’ bond was set at $85,000.
