A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot in south London this morning.
Police were called to reports of a shooting in Coldharbour Lane, Camberwell, at about 7.10am. They found the victim suffering a gunshot wound near the junction with Kenbury Street, immediately north of King’s College Hospital.
He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.
Officers arrested a man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was this evening being held at a police station in south London.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said detectives were keeping an “open mind” regarding the motive of the shooting.
