“Kids did a great job racing at altitude today,” said Marcy Epperson, head coach. “To be exact, they ran at an elevation of 9,954 feet.”

She said their performance is a testament to all the training they have been doing this season.

“The girls’ team is buying into this program and reaping the rewards of their hard work,” Epperson said. “Placing first the last three meets is definitely indicative of this.”

She said the boys did a great job staying tough on the course and finishing fourth.

“They continue to get stronger at each race and are starting to gel as a team,” Epperson said. “I am proud of their progress this season.”

Next week, the CCHS Cross Country teams travel to Colorado Springs to compete in the Southern Colorado Springs Metro League Championships on Oct. 14.
