While it seems like celebrities exist in a realm separate from us mere mortals, there is always one thing you can rely on to bring them back to ground level: the grueling reality of raising children. Sure, you can have money, fame, and worldwide fans, but you still have to assume all the gritty chores of being a parent.

Pop star Rihanna recently welcomed a baby boy with A$AP Rocky. However, she has been thinking about having kids for a long time. Back in 2021, she said that she planned to have three or four kids in the next decade, either as a single mom or with a partner.

Rihanna doesn’t believe that two parents are necessary to raise a child: “They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”

Kylie Jenner became a beauty founder at 17, and she wants to pass down the same entrepreneurial spirit to her own daughter now. In the second episode of the three-part miniseries ‘Inside Kylie Cosmetics,’ Jenner spoke about being inspired by her “momager” Kris and all the strong women while she was growing up. “You are a product of who you surround yourself with and your family,” she said, according to E! News. “My sisters and my mom have been huge influences to me, and I feel like really shaped me into who I am.” Now she’s focused on creating that same environment for her daughter. “Stormi has such strong women—and men—in her life, but she has a lot of strong women to look up to,” the beauty mogul continued. “I think it was just a no-brainer for me and my mom and our team to just be surrounded by strong women.”
