A Cheboygan woman was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after she led police from several agencies on a chase in the Howard City and Lakeview area, during which multiple patrol and civilian vehicles were damaged and a sheriff’s deputy was injured.

Linda Marie Mankel, 50, pleaded no contest on Sept. 2 to third-degree fleeing and eluding, assault with a weapon and malicious destruction of fire/police property. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing purposes. She also was found guilty of being a habitual offender third offense.
