Anthony Segura is charged with reckless homicide with a motor vehicle. Authorities say he was involved in a gang-related car chase when he lost control of his car and crashed into a group of pedestrians.


Bede R. Jagoe, a priest at Midway Airport, was charged with sexual abuse after allegedly trying to kiss a man in an elevator.

Develt Bradford, 52, of the 5300 block of South Damen Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery, Nov. 16, according to Cook County state’s attorney spokeswoman. He is one of the two accused in a robbery that occurred in a South Side Aldi store , that left a security guard dead and injured one customer.


Maurice Sutton, 19, was charged with robbery Nov. 15, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office. Sutton attacked a man and stole his cellphone on a red line train in Lakeview. Police were able to track down Sutton using the phone’s GPS software, according to the Chicago Tribune.


McKerry Coleman was sentenced to 70 years in prison Nov. 15 for choking and stabbing his girlfriend to death and slicing his infant’s throat in a jealous rage after she received calls from another man. The child survived.


Timothy Anderson was begging for money on a CTA train Nov. 13 when a victim reportedly gave him money, and apparently displeased, Anderson followed and punched the man in the head. Anderson is charged with one felony count of aggravated battery.


Cicero Police

Linda J. Vargas-Jurado, 33, was arrested after she allegedly drove her son and an accomplice to shoot a person they believe was a police informant. According to police she was charged Nov. 11 with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Raymond Harris, 36, was charged Nov. 8 with killing a 73-year-old in her garage in October. Harris was charged with first degree murder and armed robbery.


John Wilson Jr., 38, was charged with first-degree murder and residential burglary, said cook county’s state attorney. Bond was denied for Wilson Nov. 4 who was charged with the murder of Indian Head Park Teen Kelli O’ Laughlin.


Chicago Police Department

Jessica Cruz, 19, was charged with the murder of her infant son Nov. 9, and the judge ordered her held without bond. Employees at a Salvation Army store found the infant in the garbage of the store’s bathroom and, according to prosecutors, the infant had been strangled to death.


Juan Hernandez, 36, faces several charges after he allegedly stole an ambulance while drunk, and crashed it into several parked cars.

Jimmy Members was charged Monday morning for allegedly striking and killing a pedestrian. Members has been charged with aggravated DUI-death, DUI and striking a pedestrian in the roadway.


Sir Wilfred Camaligan faces three felony charges. He’s accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and holding her against her will for more than 2 months.


Sean Nuetzmann is accused of growing pot inside a Valparaiso home.


Starkenya Banks is accused of killing her 2-month-old daughter, by apparently shaking her to death.


Police say they tried to pull over Don Shedrick for talking on his cell phone while driving, but he rammed a police car and sped away, starting a chase.

Miguel Ruiz, 20, is charged in connection with a homicide and a police involved shooting that occurred Thursday evening.


Dustin McCowan, 18, is being held in Porter County jail in connection with the death of 19-year-old Amanda Bach. Police expect murder charges to be filed Sept. 19.

Jaclyn Madera, 28, was charged with several armed robberies of women on the South and Southwest Sides. She was arrested with her brother, Steven Madera, Thursday night.


Michael Whitney, a 58-year-old who is already in prison for a 1982 murder, home invasion and armed robbery, said Tuesday that he plans to plead guilty to the 1976 stabbing and murder of Darlene Stack in Wheaton.


Ricardo Robledo-Espino, 29, of the 300 block of McClure Ave. in Elgin, was convicted of two felony counts of aggravated battery to a child after breaking the legs of his girlfriend’s then-6-week-old child while watching her.

(L to R) Eddie Jones, Brian Reed and Terrell Bell are accused of carjacking a tricked-out van. But the owner had a remote kill switch that stopped them dead in their tracks.


Al “Boogie” Clemons, 54, of Racine, Wis., was charged with one felony count for allegedly trying to sell a pit bull in Illinois for dog fighting. He was held on $30,000 bond after trying to sell the 41-pound female dog to an undercover officer, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said.


Robert J. Phelan, 56, of 9209 Mayfield in Oak Lawn, was charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault after allegedly engaging in inappropriate contact with a 93-year-old Dementia patient.


Antwon Carter, 24, of the 16800 block of South Broadway Street in Lockport, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of murder/forcible felony and attempted armed robbery for the shooting death of Police Officer Michael Bailey.


Daniel Jones, 27, of Chicago, is charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer after allegedly shooting two police officers who were conducting a drug investigation.


Antonio Crawford, 21, was arrested after he left his ID in a cab after trying to use a stolen credit card and robbing the cabbie.


Trevell Moore, 21, Marc Davis, 32 and Robert Lipsey, 31 were arrested after a shooting involving a police officer at a traffic stop.



Reuven Bogoff, 59 of Wheeling, was charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault and one count of criminal sexual assault after being accused of sexually abusing his son’s friend.


Desmond D. Bell, 19; Angela A. Sewell, 21; and Larry Middleton, 18 were accused of involvement in a string of robberies in the South Loop in early July. Bell and Sewell were charged with five counts of robbery while Middleton was charged with three counts of robbery.


Police discovered a marijuana growing operation in Juro Konstantinov’s Glenview home on the 1400 block of Evergreen Terrace. A Cook County narcotics teams seized 5000 grams of cannabis worth an estimated street value of $40,000.

Gustavo Torres-Medel, of West Chicago, was sentenced to a mandatory 45 years in prison for the murder of his three-month-old son.



Jesus Garza, a 36-year-old from Elgin, stole a vehicle left running outside of the 200 block of Seneca Street and was sentenced to six years in prison.


Darren Hayes, 24, of the Hammond, Indiana, has been charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery and one felony count of mob action for his role in a brawl in the Lakeview neighborhood that was filmed and posted to YouTube.


Mack Heard, 17, (left) and Kendrick Towner, 18, (right) both of Richton Park, were each charged with one felony count of hate crime and one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault in a public place after allegedly verbally harassing and threatening a man at the South Water Metra Station.


DuPage Sheriff

Ronald Smith of Carol Stream was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Authorities allege he was chasing his wife’s car when he forced the vehicle off the road and opened fire, striking her in the wrist. After she picked up by a passing motorist, Smith allegedly followed that vehicle, forced it off the road and opened fire again. All those shots missed.


David Yate (center), 40, of Robbins, and Bennie Jackson (left), 26, and Darren Jackson (right), 24, both of Chicago, have been arrested in connection with the theft of property from a Bremen Township storage facility. The group drove an empty U-Haul truck to the storage lot on the 16100 block of George Brennan Highway and using various burglary tools, cut the locks on seventeen storage lockers. Police are investigating to see if the men are responsible for other local storage locker break-ins.


Justin William Durbin, 22, is wanted for felony auto theft after allegedly not returning a 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 from a test drive from Mercedes Benz of Naperville dealership. Police say Durbin is believe to be involved in a stealing spree of luxury vehicles including a 2007 Bentley GT Continental worth $97,900.


Jorge Horijuela, 25, of Palatine has been charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child after meeting the twelve-year-old girl at her bus stop. Bond has been set at $300,000.


Tyrone Hill, a registered sex offender, is accused of trying to abduct a 2-year-old boy from North Avenue Beach over the busy 4th of July weekend.


Peter A. Solomon, Jr., 17, of Chicago, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery in the alleged shooting of a 7-year-old girl and 44-year-old male.


Dontae J. Torres, 21, of North Aurora, was convicted of attempted murder in the shooting of an Aurora man and an 11-year-old girl in 2009.


Martin Gomez, 26, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for allegedly stabbing his former landlord approximately 111 times to death.


Raymundo Herrera, 18, of Aurora was sentenced to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to heinous battery from allegedly setting his 3-year-old niece on fire in 2009.


Roberto Carlin, 38, of Cicero faces charges of marijuana possession and possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver after police recovered 132 pounds of pot hidden in a shipment of wooden clocks.


DuPage County Sheriff

Jeffrey Jaskoske has been charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and theft after he allegedly stole a car from a Lombard Speedway gas station.


Angela C. Pagone and Jakub Zeintek were charged June 18 with three counts each of robbery in the Lincoln Park and Logan Square neighborhoods.

Michael McSweeney, 18, and Jeffrey Stolzenburg, 19, were charged with impersonating police officers after they used a loud speaker to make siren noises and pull drivers over.


57-year-old Dr. Gautam Gupta is the subject of an international manhunt. He’s accused of submitting hundreds of fraudulent insurance claims.


Stewart Gibbs, 44, faces felony animal cruelty charges for trying to operate on his own dog while drunk.


Guadalupe Romero, 27, of Rolling Meadows has been charged with felony child endangerment and aggravated battery after allegedly running her vehicle into her husband’s SUV intentionally.


Steven Cole, 41, of Arlington Heights was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing his 69-year-old father in his home. Cole called 911 confessing he had just killed his father, police said. Bond was set at $1 million.


Lamondra Townsend, 40, has been charged with dealing cocaine after police seized 480 grams of cocaine, estimated at $48,000, and drug distribution supplies from Townsend’s Matteson home.


Rodney Steele, 32, was charged in connection with hitting an officer with his vehicle while attempting to run from police. When an officer attempted to pull over Steele’s blue Jaguar, the driver of the Jaguar hit the gas and hit the officer. Charges filed against Steele include fleeing from the police, driving on suspended license, attempted first degree murder and aggravated battery.


Kendall County Sheriff’s Office

Jason E. Gilich confessed to stealing $1,300 worth of silverware while he was at a house party. Gilich had already been charged with breaking into a house and stealing jewelry on the same block that night.


Grayslake Police

Ashley Merz, 23, and Jason Tomblin, 27, are being charged in connection with hypodermic needles and other substances being found in and around their infant’s crib.


Janusz Kopycinski allegedly cussed out Mayor Daley as he left City Hall for the final time, then ran from police. He’s charged with felony aggravated battery to a police officer.



Darrell Stephenson, a southwest suburban soccer coach, was charged with sexually abusing a 12-year old boy.


Eric Gilford, 36, pleaded guilty to the 2010 murder of his wife and unborn child. He faces up to 140 years in prison.


Northern Illinois Law School graduate Reema Bajaj, 25, is accused of offering to perform a sex act with a man last month for $50.


Antonio Bucio, 22, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon after shooting two young girls Wednesday night in the Avondale neighborhood.


Marcus Clark (L) and Keith Alexander (R) were arrested in the attack and robbery of two people near West Chicago Avenue and North Wabash Avenue at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.


Akeem J. Manago (L) and Christopher Jackson (R) were charged in connection with the early Sunday attack of a University of Illinois at Chicago student who was beaten and robbed aboard a Chicago Transit Authority bus near campus.

Bobby Simms, of the 7900 block of South Essex Avenue, was charged in connection with a rash of armed robberies on Chicago’s south side, including several on tow truck drivers, police said.


John Regan, former pastor at St. Walter Parish in Roselle, was convicted June 9 of stealing about $300,000 from church collection plate offerings to support his gambling habit. He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.


Cezar Waskowski, 30, is charged with stabbing his mother, Henryka Waskowski, 67, to death early Monday. Waskowski is also a suspect in the murder of his father, Cezar Waskowski, who was found stabbed in their home the same day.


Alejandro Alvarez and Carina Rios attempted to drive their illegally parked car away with a Denver boot still attached to it.


McHenry County Sheriff

Timothy Smith, 26 of Woodstock was charged with first degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, pandering, obstructing justice and pimping after shooting the man who arranged to have sex with his wife, Kimberly Smith, 28 of Woodstock. Kimberly Smith was charged with prostitution, obstructing justice and disorderly conduct.


James E. Wenig, 46, of South Chicago Heights was charged with attempted first degree murder after repeatedly stabbing his child’s grandmother.


Chicago Police

Police arrested 19 people from a gang drug trafficking ring in the so-called south side “Terror Town”. Police seized over $24,000, 13 vehicles and 10 guns in addition to mass amounts of cocaine and heroin.


Alfredo Ramirez, 21, of Stone Park, was arrested and charged with five counts of burglary across the western suburbs.

Julie Farris, 31, of Portland, Ore.; Kathryn Ogden, 27, of Washington, D.C.; Kelly Mitchell, 26, of Van Nuys, Calif.; Gabriel Gerow, 29, of Poway, Calif.; John Rosenwinkel, 22, of Wheaton, Ill.; Benjamin Smith, 31, of San Francisco, Calif.; Cy Wagoner, 34, of Winslow, Ariz.; and John Watterberg, 32, of Brooklyn, New York were all arrested for climbing and camping out on top of a Pilsen smokestack protesting coal usage. All eight were charged with felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanor criminal trespass to land.


Eliza Martinelli has been charged with sexually assaulting four students when she was teaching at Dayspring Christian Academy in Chicago.

Jose Guadalupe Huerta-Jimenez admitted to sexually assaulting a young female relative, authorities said.

Larue Jackson, 52, was charged with 12 counts of neglect of owner’s duties and two counts of cruel treatment after 12 pit bulls were removed from the Chicago man’s house after reports of dogfighting.

Eight Greenpeace activists were arrested for climbing and vandalizing a Pilsen smokestack. The eight were later released on bail.


Timothy Smith, 26, of the 4300 block of Doty Road, faces charges of first-degree murder after he shot and killed the man who arranged to meet his wife, Kimberly Smith, 28, for sex. Police say Smith is his wife’s pimp. Kimberly Smith, 28, was charged with prostitution, obstructing justice and disorderly conduct.


Darien Lawrence Marquez Connerly, 19, was charged with fatally shooting cab driver Leodis Blackburn in the head after Blackburn refused to give Connerly money.


A lawsuit against Dwight Washington was filed on behalf of Tyler Jones’ parents and Jennifer Anton in relation to a crash on the Gold Coast.

Richard Gallatin, 38, of Kenosha, Wisconsin was sentenced to 120 years in prison for kidnapping a woman at Gurnee Mills and sexually assaulting her.


Robert Spearing has been charged with disorderly conduct for falsifying a police report in order go gain Oprah tickets.


Police Officer Lynell Porch is charged with battering teen and filing a false police report.


Adrian Villela (L) and Francisco Carmona (R) are each charged with felony armed robbery. Police say they robbed a 24-year-old woman at gunpoint on a sidewalk in the 1900 block of North Lincoln Avenue on May 7, 2011.

Jason Range, 22, was sentenced to 21 years after a fight with his estranged wife resulted in his wife’s 5-week-old son falling from the third-floor porch.


Vance E. Baines, 38, is charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. He’s accused of driving a vehicle that struck and killed a 75-year-old man in Humboldt Park.

Former police officer Michael Miller, 38, was charged with impersonating a police officer and threatening a public official after he made several attempts to gain access to a judge and assistant state’s attorney.


DeAndre Hampton and Alana Arila are accused of trying to sell an SKS assault rifle, a .40 caliber gun and a .380 caliber gun to an undercover police officer.

Ralph Ullum is accused of cruelty to animals charges and attempted criminal damage to property after police say he drugged Pixie, a competing Siberian husky at a Wheaton dog show.

Jaroslaw Kozak,41, was arrested by Chicago police for soliciting an undercover officer in a murder-for-hire plot.


Kendall County Sheriff’s Office

Jason E. Gilich was arrested on Monday for breaking into a Yorkville home and stealing jewelry. Police obtained search warrants and got a confession after a family friend tipped them off to Gilich’s whereabouts.


Kane County Sheriff’s Office

Claudia Chagoya was arrested in Elgin for possessing $2.1 million worth of heroin, the largest heroin seizure in Kane County history.

James Roesch, 49, was being held for a bond hearing at Cook County Criminal Courthouse when he took off on crutches trying to escape police. Roesch was caught as soon as he made his way outside.


Maurice Tousant was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly fired an AK-47 at a Garfield Park home.


Sonny Pierce has been charged with the murder of three women, Kimika Coleman, 18, of South Deering, Kiara Windom, 18, of Harvey and Mariah Edwards, 17 of Blue Island. Pierce allegedly raped and strangled the women, dumping Coleman’s and Windom’s bodies in alleys on the south side. Authorities say Pierce refuses to tell them where Edwards’ remains are located.


Demetrice Allen, 28, of Englewood was arrested in connection with a shooting that happened at a Food Mart on the 5900 block of South Morgan Street. Police allege as they followed Allen into an alley he pulled a gun and officers were forced to hit him with their squad car.


Tyrone Henderson, 31, of Joliet was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to 51 years in prison after shooting Michael Amos three times.

Joan M. Sanchez, 53, of Oak Lawn was sentenced to 8 years in prison for embezzling $884,299 from a Chicago law firm where she was employed for 24 years.

Juan Delgado, 35, and Juan Vazquez, 45, were arrested after a drug bust led to police seizing $1.5 million in heroin.


Jacqueline Stoffey, who is seven months pregant, was found unconscious of an apparent drug overdose with her 5- and 6-year-old nephews present. She’ll likely face misdemeanor child endangerment charges if she recovers.


Kyle Kowal, 26, has been charged with arson and burglary related to a string of fires in the Libertyville area.


Cortez Foster, 45, was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm, Aggravated Criminal Sex Assault with Bodily Harm, and Robbery armed with a dangerous weapon.

Danielito Valentin, 31, of the 5300 block of South Spaulding Avenue, was charged with felony aggravated battery with a firearm and false impersonation of a peace officer for shooting a patron in the leg and carrying a Chicago Police badge.


Adrian Cazares-Maravilla, 23, of Waukegan, was arrested during a traffic stop. Police say he had with him a Kilo of cocaine, with a street value of about $120,000.

Two Florida men were arrested in Elk Grove Village with more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana concealed in a shipment of carrots in their truck. They were charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

Dale Contursi was charged with shoving and punching an 80-year-old man in the face while the man waited for the bathroom at a Northwest Side grocery store.


Wayne E. Smith, 25, is charged with felony criminal sexual assault. Authorities allege he sexually assaulted a woman he’d befriended on Facebook.

Jason Hinton, 36, of the 300 block of West 51st Street, was arrested for transporting $93,000 worth of cocaine.


Walter Price, 48, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 93-year-old woman in Avalon Park.


Timothy Sinico, 22, was arrested in his Schaumburg home in connection to a 2009 murder and charged with first-degree murder.


Dr. Daniel Amick, a veteran Loyola University archaeology professor, was sentenced to one year probation after pleading guilty to stealing artifacts from a New Mexico historic site.


Johnell Walker, 28, is charged Tuesday with three felony counts of aggravated arson causing bodily harm. Authorities say he set off a firecracker during a domestic dispute and burned a 6-month-old girl


Police say Raul Vega, 34, was so drunk that he fell asleep behind a moving vehicle. He was charged with DUI.


Hugo Dominguez, 38, is charged with aggravated domestic battery. Authorities say he chained his girlfriend’s 13-year-old son to a clothes dryer and beat him.

Raymond Kvacik, 74, was charged with three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance for allegedly trying to drug his in-home caregivers.


Alexander Choi, 19, and Sung Won Chung, 22, were charged with felony aggravated robbery and aggravated battery for allegedly beating and robbing a female cab driver.


Richard Data, Edmund Grzeszkiewicz and Bryan Kjellman were charged with felony criminal damage to property after they were caught slashing and trashing seven Toyotas at the Chicago Auto Show, authorities said.


Harold Guzman, 51, is accused of stealing $600,000 in jewelry from a car that reportedly belonged to a traveling salesman. Guzman is charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and felony theft.


Heriberto Ramirez, 48, is accused of first degree murder. Authorities say he killed his wife by stabbing her several times.

Michael L. Diaz was sentenced to six years in prison for repeatedly driving with a revoked license. The most recent charge marked his 17th conviction.


Twin brothers Myrelle and Tyrelle Lockett, 18, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking in the south suburbs. They were sentenced to four years in prison.


Laconda McDonald is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in the stabbing death of a man on the West Side.


Fabio Bindel, 30, of Valparaiso faces felony charges for impersonating a police officer while trying to pull over a car using a cell phone app that mimics red-and-blue police lights. He also faces DUI charges.



Adam Shepard was arrested at a South Loop hotel for a hit-and-run in Florida. He was held without bail.


Pedro Valdovinos, 19, of Bolingbrook, has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Authorities say 15 kilos of cocaine was found in his vehicle was found after Valdovinos was pulled over for speeding.


Tyreesha Fraley was charged in a hit-and-run crash that severely injured a woman waiting at a South Side bus stop.


Steve Burton, 20, has been charged with criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Authorities say he had sex with a 13-year-old girl he met on MySpace.


Gabriel Gomez, Jose Mejia, Cesar Ortiz (L to R) are accused of possessing and delivering methamphetamine. Chicago police and DEA officials say they saw the men sell nearly $300,000 worth of meth in a South Side alley. Another $5.3 million worth was found in a home nearby, authorities said.


Fernando Camarillo was charged with trafficking more than 100 pounds of marijuana and possessing several handguns and a shotgun.

Leroy Stephenson, 24, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony, and child pornography. Bond has been set at $75,000 for the Ford Heights man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl and taking explicit photos that were later posted on Facebook


Buffalo Grove Police

Buffalo Grove police arrested Jordan Weiman, 20, Wednesday after he allegedly ran over 41 mailboxes. He is charged with 41 misdemeanor counts of knowingly damaging property.

Leszek Pawelkowski, 41, has been charged with murder in connection with the home invasion of a jewler in Chicago’s Sauganash neighborhood. On October 27, Pawelkowski and another suspect allegedly used a gun to force their way into a home in the 6300 block of N. Kildare. Once inside, they allegedly tied up Shai Miller, 57, and his 14-year old son and then severely beat the father


Gregory Brooks admitted to killing Ruby and Milton McClendon of Hammond, Indiana. He received 120 years for the crimes. The McClendon’s were parents of CLTV talk show host Garrard McClendon.


Luis Benito, 17, is charged with one-count of reckless homicide. Authorities say Benito was drunk when he drove an SUV through the wall of an apartment complex and on top of a woman sleeping in her bed.

Francis Cook IV, 67, of Delton, Mich., tried to get onto an American Airlines flight to Dallas at lunchtime Saturday with a loaded gun in his bag, prosecutors said. Transportation Security Administration officials spotted Cook’s .380 handgun inside a carry-on bag during a pre-flight search, according to a police report.


William McIntosh has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a teenaged runaway nearly four years ago. He’d previously been arrested and charged with stabbing his own dog and leaving it to die in a bathtub.

Santos Loza, 30, was arrested this week for the 2008 murder of his ex-girlfriend’s 8-month-old son. Loza allegedly hit the child multiple times in the head with blunt force while he babysat.

Thomas Moorer, 39, allegedly broke into an apartment on the 7000 block of W Grand Avenue and killed the victim inside. Moorer is charged with first degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.


Eric Gilford, 31, was arrested in Wyoming for the death of his estranged wife and her unborn child. Gilford, a Downer’s Grove native, was charged with first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child.

Jay Taylor, 21, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of robbery in connection with a series of thefts from senior citizens. Taylor and an accomplice, who remains at large, gained the trust of their elderly victims before stealing money, checks and credit cards.

Cook County Sheriff’s Office

Cheryl Nordlander, 49, and her son Jason, 21, were arrested and charged for multiple counts of drug possession, dealing, and manufacturing. Police were alerted by the Nordlanders’ neighbors, who had observed a suspicious amount of foot traffic at the house day and night.


Fredrick Smith, 25, was convicted of illegally possessing a loaded handgun and marijuana. Police discovered the items after pulling Smith’s car over. He will face a maximum term of nine years in jail when he is sentenced.


Brian McMillian, 40, was sentenced to an agreed term of seven years in jail for selling .33 grams of cocaine in 2008. McMillian previously served a 15-year sentence for second degree murder in Cook County.


Frederick Tapley, 36, of Romeoville turned himself in at the Downers Grove Police Department. His bond was set at $10,000 and he was friend after posting 10 percent ($1,000).


Jose Lugo, 31, and Luis Mendoza, 33, were each charged with one count of delivery of cocaine. After dealing the drug to undercover policemen, Lugo and Mendoza’s bond was set at $2.5 million.


Bryan Perkins, 23, was charged with one count of resisting law enforcement and one count of escape when he fled, handcuffed, from the back of a police car. Officers located him hours later at his mother’s home.


Edward Brown, 35, and Steven Fox, 26, were each charged with murder in the death of 46-year-old Larry Brown. The suspects allegedly beat the victim unconscious after he unknowingly scratched their car.


Cameron Dotson and Kendra Love have three charges against them: possession of stolen property, carjacking and battery.


Tarenzo Dillon, 26, was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm after a one-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder. Dillon was engaged in an argument with the victim’s mother’s boyfriend.


Kimberly Kelley, 31, was convicted of neglect of a dependent and battery after her three-month-old son died. Prosecution may retry Kelley for murder, but she faces a maximum term of 50 years for her current conviction.


Wilbert Deberry Jr., 29, pled guilty to dealing 1.1 grams of cocaine for $100 in 2009. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Terry Anderson, 27, was arrested after police saw him fleeing from an alley, dressed in black. He was charged with the murder of a 25-year-old man, who was shot twice in a nearby convenience store.


Santos Calaff, 29, was charged with first degree murder for the homicide of a 23-year-old man. Calaff was on parole when the victim was shot and killed and the IDOC issued a parole violation warrant.


Pamela Bobby, 47, has been convicted of selling .9 gross grams of heroin for $100 to an informant who was working with Hammond, Indiana police in November 2009. She’ll serve 9 years in prison.

Bryant Brewer, 24, of 5800 Block of South Wolcott, faces one count of first degree murder, four counts of attempted murder and one count of armed robbery, according to police.

Letty Zuniga, 19, of the 2700 block of South St. Louis Avenue in Chicago is charged with bringing contraband into a penal institution. She allegedly tried to sneak marijuana into Cook County Jail for a convicted gang member. Zuniga was caught passing along drugs to a corrections officer.


Robert “Nookie” Anderson, 29, an inmate at Cook County Jail since 2003, is charged with trying to smuggle drugs into the jail. Anderson, a convicted gang member, allegedly tried to recruit a corrections officer to help bring contraband into the prison. The officer, however, alerted authorites and Anderson was caught.

Robert G. Budzyn, 40, was arrested and charged with four counts of child pornography possession.

John Gareski, 47, was arrested for making threats against a Kane County Circuit Clerk and an Assistant State’s Attorney.

Gary Cheetham, 53, was arrested with two felony counts of child pornography after he gave an undercover agent online access to pornographic video and images. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in jail.



Donaver Jones, 39, Melvin Trent, 38, and Timothy Norris, 36, were found guilty of dog fighting charges. The men, whose two pit bulls are now healthy and cared for, were sentenced to 24 months probation, anger management classes and fined for the cost of caring for the animals.

Victoria Okegbola, 28, was arrested by Chicago police after becoming an international fugitive. Okegbola fled Florida with her 1-1/2 year-old-son while engaged in a custody battle with the boy’s father. Before her arrest, she earned a nursing degree in Chicago after leaving her son with family in Nigeria.


Gurnee Police

Jaime A. Jimenez was charged Sunday with unauthorized video recording and live video transmission. The crime is a felony. Jimenez was caught when he slipped his camera under a stall at Hurricane Harbor that was occupied by a Lake County area police officer.After his arrest, cops entered his home and found more cameras and gear. They also found videos of half naked men on his cell phone. The CPS said it’s launching an investigation. Jimenez is being held in lieu of bail.



Virgen Perez Velaquez, 39, Amy Elizabeth Thoren, 42, and Bobbi Jo Rennicks, 32, were arrested and charged with prostitution. The women allegedly used the Internet to post services, then met customers in Naperville hotels where they performed sexual acts for money.


Andrew Ruiz, 29, and Edwin Carrasquillo, 19, were arrested for the homicide of a 24-year-old victim. Police apprehended the gang members when they recognized the white van the men used to flee the scene.


John Landem is charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and robbery after steal money and a minivan from a mother and her children in a Northbrook shopping center.
