Stanley P. Allen, 71, was convicted of the sexual abuse in 2017 and sentenced to eight years in prison.
The girl was abused in the garage of the Bloomingburgh home Allen shared with the grandmother, who would watch the child while her mom worked.
Allen admitted in criminal court to a single incident of abuse, but the victim claimed in a lawsuit the vile behavior went on for eight years, starting from the time she was 6 years old. She and her mom sued Allen in Orange County Supreme Court in 2018. A judge issued the $3.5 million judgment last week.
The girl alerted her mom to the abuse when she was 13 and Allen admitted the behavior on a phone call with the child taped by cops.
“The Court’s thoughtful verdict has delivered justice to our young client,” said the victim’s lawyer, James Monroe.
