Jason Cummins, 37, of Shawnee — a former coach with the Arson FC youth soccer club — was arrested in May after investigation by Overland Park police into allegations of sexual contact with a 15-year-old in November 2019.
Cummins must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the terms of a plea agreement reached July 28.
As part of that plea, the charges against Cummins, a Level 4 felony, was reduced to attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child, a Level 4 felony.
The parties in the case have agreed to probation and Cummins must undergo follow-up evaluations for substance abuse and as a sex offender.
He is not allowed to have contact with the victim or any witnesses.
Cummins will be formally sentenced Sept. 23 in Johnson County District Court.
