#childmolestor | Sex offender sentenced for illegal entry

A convicted sex offender has been sentenced for being in the country illegally, according to court documents.

Oscar Murretla-Gonzalez had pleaded guilty to illegal entry after deportation on Sept. 7.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Marina Garcia Marmolejo handed Murretla-Gonzalez a six-month sentence. He is expected to be deported after serving his time.

During the evening of June 20, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo North Station agents detained six migrants attempting to board a train at Port Laredo.

One migrant was identified as Murretla-Gonzalez, a 33-year-old Mexican citizen. A records check revealed he was convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with a child younger than 14 years old in Salinas, Calif., and sentenced to one year incarceration and three years of probation.
