#childpredator | 60 year sentence for Kendall man for child sex crimes

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) –  A Kendall man is sentenced to 60 years after his conviction on nearly five dozen charges related to sex crimes against children.

David J. Hamilton, 41, was sentenced Friday in Monroe County Circuit Court.

He pleaded no contest to 57 counts, 45 of which were possession of child pornography, in June.

The charges came about after an investigation in 2017 by Tomah Police and the state’s Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.

Hamilton is a lifetime registrant on the Wisconsin Sex Offender registry after a 2009 conviction for 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.

In a statement, Monroe County District Attorney Kevin Chroninger called Hamilton a predator. “Predators belong in prison. The sentence of the Court today assures Mr. Hamilton will remain in prison and incapable of hurting any children for an extended period of time. I am extremely proud of the work that both law enforcement and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office continue to do to ensure that predators like David Hamilton are removed from the public.”

The sentence is split so that Hamilton will spend the next 35 years in prison followed by 25 years of extended supervision.
