As CrimeOnline previously reported, Evelyn’s body was found on property off of the 500 block of Muddy Creek Road in Sullivan County on March 6. The property belongs to Megan Boswell’s father, Tommy Boswell Sr. Property records show that Megan Boswell’s mother and stepmother also own the property.
Megan Boswell, 19, was the child’s mother.

A month prior to finding Evelyn, authorities arrested Megan Boswell after she allegedly changed her story “every single time” authorities spoke to her, which ultimately hindered the investigation.
“Every time we talk to her, her story changes,” Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy said. “I’m serious when I say every single time.”
Boswell has not been a suspect in connection with her daughter’s death, but she remains behind bars on charges of giving false information.
Megan’s Alleged False Reporting
On February 18, the day authorities issued an AMBER Alert for Evelyn, Boswell reportedly told a DCF worker that Evelyn’s father, Ethan Perry, had the child and she planned to pick her up.
Authorities said that Perry, who is stationed in Louisiana and actively serving in the military, did not have the baby.
Boswell later told News 5 that her mother took the baby to someone in a silver camper in Virginia.
On Tuesday, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Andy Seabolt responded to Boswell’s claim. According to the Tennessean, Seabolt said Boswell’s camper claim was “investigated completely.” Authorities did not find Evelyn.
“The claim that Megan made stating that Evelyn was in a camper in Mendota was investigated completely,” Seabolt said.
“The Washington County Virginia Sheriff’s Office along with the United States Marshals checked every campground in Mendota and nothing was found. Megan’s story has changed multiple times throughout this investigation.”
Boswell later reportedly claimed she was denied a lie detector test because she’s pregnant.
“I am pregnant….that’s why they won’t give me a polygraph. Due to policy if you are pregnant they will not give you one,” Megan “Maggie” Boswell previously told News Channel 5.
According to the Sullivan County jail records, however, Boswell is not pregnant.
Multiple Persons of Interest
Earlier this week, News Channel 11 reported that authorities had a “person of interest” in the case, but Seabolt explained on Friday that they have multiple persons of interest and have nothing new to share in the case.
“There have been persons of interest during the entire investigation,” Seabolt told CBS 8. “The local news outlet that reported that there is a ‘person of interest’ did so upon just simply asking if there is a person of interest while conducting an interview with one of our investigators (Wednesday).
“We have no new information to share in the investigation. The investigation remains active with investigators working on it.”
Megan Boswell appeared before a judge via video on Friday, but attorneys said they needed additional time to review videos of interviews between her and investigators before submitting the case to the grand jury.
