Student Accusing Oakland International Academy Employee of Sexual Assault Testifies
Last Thursday, October 10, a student with special needs who has accused an Oakland International Academy High School employee of sexual assault testified in court. The school’s community liaison officer Ibrahim Aljahim has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Aljahim is accused of taking the 18-year-old special needs student away from the school in his car and sexually assaulting him while parked across the street from the school. The student testified regarding these details on Thursday. He said that he went with Aljahim because he follows the Koran, which he said teaches him to do what his elders say.
In a previous court appearance one week prior, on October 3, prosecutors told the court that Aljahim is also being investigated for three other reported sexual assaults involving two other victims – one who is under the age of 16 and another who is over 18 years old, but disabled.
Aljahim could face life in prison if convicted. Another hearing is scheduled for next week.
