#childpredator | Oklahoma Man Went To Atlantic City To Sexually Assault Girls: AG

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A registered sex offender traveled from Oklahoma to Atlantic City to sexually assault two girls, according to the Office of Attorney General. Aaron Craiger instead met two undercover detectives at a motel Wednesday before his arrest.

Craiger, 33, traveled by bus to meet two men who offered him access to underage girls for sex, the OAG said. He believed one man was bringing his 12-year-old daughter and the other was bringing his girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter, authorities said.

The man had condoms with him and a small amount of marijuana, which he said he wanted to smoke with the girls, according to the OAG. Craiger texted undercover detectives and detailed sexual acts he wanted to perform with the girls, officials said. He sent them 10 files of child pornography, and authorities also found it on his phone when he was arrested.

“If the coronavirus can’t stop sex offenders from traveling to New Jersey to prey on children, we will,” said Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal. “With the number of children who are home from school and accessing the internet due to the pandemic, it’s critical that parents talk to their children about the dangers of social media and warn them that there are predators like Craiger lurking online who are willing to go to very great lengths to locate and reach victims.”

Craiger was charged with the following:

  • two counts of attempted sexual assault (second-degree)
  • distribution of child pornography (second-degree)
  • possession of child pornography (third-degree)
  • two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (third-degree)
  • two counts of attempted distribution of marijuana (fourth-degree)
  • marijuana possession (disorderly persons offense)

He is being held in the Atlantic County Jail.

Craiger was convicted of rape in 2006 in Oklahoma. The man was classified as a level-three sex offender — a designation for the most serious crimes and those convicted more than once. He was also convicted in Oklahoma in 2011 for failing to register as a sex offender.

He was released from jail in 2010 after serving time for five counts of second-degree rape. Craiger was also arrested in 2012 for impersonating an officer at the Oklahoma State Fair, according to News on 6.
