The job: “Working predominantly in the south east of Northumberland as part of a three or four person team under the direction of a Trees and Woodlands Officer you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of arboricultural works. Along with your fellow team members you must carry out requested works safely, efficiently and effectively, keeping clear and accurate written records.
“You will be expected to work closely with staff from other Council departments and frequently come into contact with members of the public, so the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.”

Older persons housing officer – Gateshead Housing Company
Pay: £24,799 – £26,999
The job: “In this role, you will support the delivery of a comprehensive, customer-focused and responsive sheltered housing service. This will include supporting the development of older people’s services, working directly with customers and councillors, and liaising with other support agencies.
“Day to day, you will be responsible for the supervision and line-management of an out-based sheltered housing team. You will support older people to live independently in a safe, comfortable environment that promotes social engagement to maximise well-being and reduce the adverse effects of social isolation and long-term health conditions.
“You will also be responsible for the day-to-day tenancy and estate management of a patch of sheltered accommodation. This will involve dealing with complaints, investigating concerns relating to anti-social behaviour, building compliance and general housing enquiries.”

Public health practitioner – South Tyneside Council
The job: “This post holder will support and help develop programmes and initiatives that will deliver outcomes around the South Tyneside Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Director of Public Health report and the public health work plan.
“Specifically this will include oral health, domestic abuse, looked after children, care leavers, sexual health, teenage pregnancy and stop smoking in pregnancy.
“You will need a good level of knowledge and skills about health inequalities and health improvement as well as being motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about making a difference in South Tyneside.”

Payroll clerk – Gateshead Council
Pay: £18,065 – £18,426
The job: “We are looking for a clerk, preferably with payroll experience, to be part of the Council’s Payroll Team. Duties include involvement in the processing of salaries and pensions using the iTrent HR/Payroll system.
“Being a team player is essential as is the ability to work to strict deadlines. Applicants should be computer literate, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office suite, and be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with passes at grade C or above in English and Maths.”

Caretaker – Northumberland County Council

The job: “We are looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the Facilities team at County Hall in Morpeth. The successful applicant will be required to provide caretaking duties within the building.
“Considerable knowledge of a broad range of practical tasks associated with a caretaking environment together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.
“Knowledge of health & safety legislation relating to a caretaking environment is required.

Independent reviewing team manager – Newcastle City Council
Pay: £46,561 – £49,575
The job: “We are looking for an experienced and dynamic social work practitioner to manage a team of Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) within our Children’s Safeguarding Standards Unit (CSSU). With significant experience of children’s social work, including child protection and services for looked after children, you must be capable of promoting best practice and have an excellent understanding of how we work with families to create lasting change.
