#childsafety | List of trick-or-treat dates, times for Northeast Ohio cities, plus who has canceled activity for 2020 amid coronavirus

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Young ghosts and goblins will be able to participate in trick-or-treating in many communities across Northeast Ohio in 2020 amid the coronavirus, after all.

cleveland.com canvassed the seven-county region to find out which cities are holding trick-or-treating. Below are the responses we received from calls to city leaders. If your community is not listed, we have not yet received an answer. We will update this list as more responses come in, so keep checking back.

State and local city officials are encouraging families to take precautions such as mask-wearing, staying in small groups and social distancing to limit COVID-19 exposure, but many believe current coronavirus stats make it safe for kids to go door to door in search of sweet treats on Oct. 31. Gov. Mike DeWine said trick-or-treating is up to individual communities — and parents.

“(Cities will decide) I’m sure, in consultation with their local health department. Parents, in turn, will do what parents do and that is make a decision about whether a child goes out trick-or-treating,” DeWine said during a recent coronavirus press briefing.
