Jysika, thought to be in Idaho, shared a clip to her TikTok page as she made the chilling find one night while taking the garbage out.
She told the camera: “So this is part of the reason why I hate winter. So I’m outside taking the trash to the road, and there’s these footprints leading through the snow, that are pretty big.”
She puts her foot next to the footprint, which dwarfs it in comparison.
“I mean this is my foot, so these are big a** man feet, leading to my child’s window. Do you see them? Then they are walking back, and they go across the street. Well who knows if they go across the street, but they go this way. Look at this f****** foot. Whose foot is this?” she asks.
The clip, which was shared in December 2021, has been seen more than 4 million times and can be watched here. Jysika added the caption “bought security cameras today,” as people shared advice over what to do.
In the comments, the mom shared more details about the frightening episode as she clarified the room does have curtains, albeit not blackout ones, and there is a motion sensor floodlight about four feet from the bedroom.
And she confirmed she called the cops and filed a police report, saying: “They said they’ll keep a closer watch on my house.”
Jysika admitted: “Honestly I never would’ve known. But I’m glad that there was something there to tell me there’s something wrong. I hate the snow but it saved us.”
In a separate comment she said: “It literally made me nauseous instantly. I think we’re ready of [if] this person returns.”
Some people advised moving the children upstairs, to which she revealed she lives in a single-story house.
“I wish it was a two-story home,” she said, while in another comment she added: “I live one street away from the country and about six miles from the mountains. I worry more about mountain lions than people. But not anymore.”
As the caption said, she reiterated she installed cameras the day she found the prints, and planned to install a fence in the front yard.
While she claimed she thought the mystery person got in a car, according to the prints, she dismissed suggestions it could have been a mailman.
She said: “Where we live our mailman drives a vehicle. And the mailbox is on the opposite side of the property…I walked around and looked at everyone’s yards and did not find the same tracks.”
Commenting on the find, Leigh Ann Deahl pointed out: “Snow could save your child!!!”
Agreeing, Morgan DelValle wrote: “You’re lucky the snow was there to alert you to the danger.”
Bekah Day said: “Oh this is so scary mama! Please be safe!!”
Shannon B thought: “I’m so glad you got an early warning! I would not let my child sleep there until safeguards are in place though.”
Charlotte Demers Lan added: “What the hell, that’s so scary, I’m so sorry.”
While RJ.talks advised: “Switch rooms with that child asap.”
Although Stephanie Kneelan183 suggested: “There are also paw prints, someone could have been grabbing their wayward dog.”
In response to Sacari who said: “I hope the windows were locked,” Jysika replied: “Yes, terrifying right.”
After the clip blew up, Jysika shared a follow-up clarifying why she was out looking in the snow, as she confirmed there have been sightings of a mountain lion in her area.
A news report from KMVT from November 2021, which Jysika shared, warned residents of “increased mountain lion activity” in the local area.
It stated: “Other residents reported seeing mountain lions in and around residential homes and neighborhoods.”
Newsweek reached out to Jysika for comment.
