Mr Kelly, 36, was arrested on November 3 after police stormed his property and allegedly found Cleo locked inside a bedroom 18 days after she disappeared from her family’s tent while sleeping at the remote Blowholes camping ground.
In the days that followed, WA Police claimed Mr Kelly self-harmed twice and had to be taken to hospital for treatment before he was flown to Perth on November 5 to a Perth prison.
He was recently charged with assaulting a public officer on November 4, which was the same day he made his first court appearance in Carnarvon.
During the brief hearing, Mr Kelly shouted at the media in the public gallery that he was “coming for you” before being remanded in custody.
He is facing multiple charges including child abduction.
He is yet to enter a plea and is due to appear in Carnarvon Court via video link on January 24 for his third hearing.
