CMS elementary school teacher arrested for sex crimes against minor

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg elementary school teacher has been arrested and charged with sex crimes against children, according to the head of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Superintendent Ann Clark told WBTV that Timothy Olson, a teacher at Polo Ridge Elementary, is currently suspended with pay after he was charged with Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor in Union County.

According to the school’s website, Olson is a 5th grade teacher at the school.

Clark says there is no indication that the charges involve a student in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

He has been employed with the school district since 2012.

According to a crime reporting website, Olson was arrested on August 13.

A parent from Polo Ridge Elementary told WBTV they received a robocall about Olson’s arrest.
