Column: South suburban group launches student fellowships to combat systemic racism | #students | #parents


Fellows will participate in virtual, cohort-based learning sessions on topics including the history of systemic racism and the foundations of public policy advocacy. Each fellow will be paired with a government entity, nonprofit, business or educational institution in the Black Millennial Renaissance network to apply the skills they learn. They will develop a capstone project on their topic of choice, work with Black Millennial Renaissance to explore opportunities to serve on youth advisory councils in Illinois and receive a total of $2,000 via a weekly stipend, the couple said.
