Crime Stoppers adds Carol Bowman homicide to list of cold cases with $5,000 rewards | #College. | #Students

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Crime Stoppers has added one more homicide to their list of cold cases for community members to help solve.

Deanna McLaughlin, chairman of Clarksville Crime Stoppers, said May 27, 2022, marked the third anniversary of the unsolved murder of Carol Bowman. On May 27, 2019, a police officer responded to a welfare check at 102 Church Court. Officers and EMS found Bowman on the couch with apparent head trauma. The investigation revealed that Bowman’s cell phone and some of her prescription medications were missing.

In the continued effort to bring justice to families of unsolved murder victims, Crime Stoppers has added this case to the list of unsolved murders that are eligible for up to $5,000 in reward money.

McLaughlin said the reward used to be $1,000, however, in December the Crime Stoppers board voted to increase the amount.

“We always want to stress that someone may have a little piece of information that is not significant, but it just might be that one piece of information law enforcement needs to put their case together,” McLaughlin.

McLaughlin said she hopes to see some of the cold cases solved.

“If one of these victims was your family member, you would want someone to come forward with information. You can do that for one of these families,” she said.

For those who are worried about speaking out, McLaughlin said the process is anonymous. Your location, phone number, computer information, etc. will not be captured. You will be assigned a unique number that you will use through the tip process.

“We operate separately from law enforcement,” she said. “We act as a liaison between the people that have information and the authorities.”

If you have information about these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS, or go to www.p3tips.com, and leave a tip. For more information visit clarksvillecrimestoppers/unsolvedmurders.
