YORKTOWN, NY — A Connecticut man was arrested after being accused of violating a “stay away” order. Yorktown police said Joseph S. Franco, 43, of Greenwich, Connecticut, was charged with two-counts of first-degree criminal contempt, felonies.

Police said, shortly before 11 p.m. Aug. 18, officers were sent to investigate a report of a past domestic incident at a Yorktown residence.

Franco was found to have violated a duly served temporary order of protection by going to the protected party’s residence, police said.

After attempts to find him, an arrest warrant was issued by the Yorktown Justice Court.

Franco voluntarily surrendered Thursday evening and he was placed under arrest.
