#cyberbullying | #cyberbully | Chrissy Teigen leaves Twitter, says it’s the ‘right time’ – KIRO 7 News Seattle

Attention, Tweeps.

Chrissy Teigen bid Twitter farewell on Wednesday, saying the social media network “no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”

In her final thread before deleting the account, the model, cookbook author and entrepreneur thanked her more than 13.7 million followers, saying “you guys have been my world” for the past 10 years, but incessant harassment and cyberbullying has left her “honestly deeply bruised.”

According to Variety, a recent example occurred Monday when Teigen announced via the platform that she and reality star Kris Jenner were launching a line of plant-based cleaning products, prompting a “deluge of harsh criticism.”

“I really don’t wake up every day trying to make you mad but somehow I manage. and u say I have no talent. that’s something I guess,” she wrote.

Teigen’s other social media accounts, including Instagram and YouTube, remain active, the outlet reported.

Meanwhile, Teigen has been transparent in recent weeks about the crushing negativity she has received on Twitter, Today reported.

“do u ever feel like everyone hates you? I feel like everyone hates me,” she wrote on March 19. “I’m not looking for you to tell me you don’t, I swear, please don’t!!! it is just overwhelming.”

Teigen explained in her farewell tweet that, above all, the social media platform has exposed her personal vulnerabilities that drove her decision to exit.

“My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don’t is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap-back girl but I’m just not. My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!”
