In an ever-changing world young people are becoming increasingly tech-savvy, with the internet used for socialising, play and learning.

But with the good that can be harnessed through technology there comes a risk of children being affected by negative aspects such as cyberbullying, grooming, and privacy issues.

To help parents and interested community members navigate the technological world, Investigator College is hosting a free cyber safety information session, Growing Up Online, this month.

The free session will be presented Susan McLean, who is one of the country’s foremost experts in cyber safety, working extensively with Victoria Police.

Ms McLean will address a number of issues and help give guidance on how to best educate and prepare and protect young people around technology and the internet.

The session is open to parents and caregivers, with children and youth asked not to attend.

– Details: The session will take place on Thursday, June 10 at the Investigator College Performing Arts & Sports Centre, 9 Bacchus Road, Victor Harbor at 7pm. All attendees must register at https://www.trybooking.com/BRILC
