JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The idea of bullying used to be in schools, or in the neighborhood, but since technology has evolved so has bullying.

With the increased use of social media and technology, cyberbullying has become a large issue and can happen anywhere.

Cyber experts point to studies showing nearly half of minors from nine to 17-years-old have experienced some form of cyberbullying during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center, cyberbullying is the “use of technology to repeatedly and intentionally harass, hurt, embarrass, humiliate, or intimidate another person.”

Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center provides several different resources surrounding bullying, including educational resources, awareness toolkits, and prevention.
