Hana Kimura, a Japanese professional wrestler and a cast member of the Netflix reality show “Terrace House,” has died, according to multiple reports.
She was 22.
Kimura’s wrestling organization, Stardom Wrestling, issued a statement Friday, according to Variety.
“We are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away,” the company wrote on Twitter. “Please be respectful and allow some time for things to process, and keep your thoughts and prayers with her family and friends.”
The news comes after a series of troubling social media posts — the last of which featured her with a cat and said “Goodbye” — Friday, according to reports. She also reportedly posted some photos to social media that showed “self-harm,” according to Newsweek, and it said she “alluded to being on the end of abusive messages on social media before her death.”
Newsweek said Kimura was cast in “Terrace House: Tokyo” last September. It said the show follows a group of men and women living together, and airs on Fuji TV, one of Japan’s most popular networks, and is also available on Netflix.
She was, reportedly, an up-and-coming wrestler who had performed around the world, including for the United States’ Ring of Honor wrestling.
