MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) – Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste has confirmed that Valarie Patterson was arrested in connection to the death of 5-year-old Kamden Johnson. He was found dead on Demetropolis Road in Mobile Monday afternoon.

The 46-year-old works at the day care the little boy attended.
“We were able to make an arrest late last night,” Battiste said during a news conference, “right now, she is a primary suspect as we continue our investigation”.

Authorities have not released a motive, time of death, or cause of death. They are asking for people to be patient and respect Kamden’s family’s privacy.
