DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — A DeSoto County Schools teacher’s assistant was arrested this week on molestation charges.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department charged Amy Craft with molesting-touching child for lustful purpose.

DCSD said early Thursday morning at approximately 1 a.m. a deputy on routine patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle in front of Center Hill High School on Kirk Road in Olive Branch.

The Deputy approached the vehicle and found 48-year-old Amy Craft, a teaching assistant with DeSoto County Schools, with a minor, under the age of 16.

She is possibly facing additional charges in other jurisdictions, DCSD said.

FOX13 reached out to the school for a statement and received the following statement:

“School officials are cooperating fully with local law enforcement regarding the former teacher’s assistant.”

Craft will appear before a Justice Court Judge but a court date has not been set at this time.
