A Dover woman has been charged with child endangerment after being accused of failing to report the abuse of her 3-year-old son.
On Monday, a Stewart County grand jury returned an indictment for 30-year-old Melissa Woolman, whose toddler was assaulted and hospitalized in February, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
As a result of the investigation, TBI agents arrested and charged the boy’s stepfather, 26-year-old Stephen Woolman, with one count of aggravated child abuse, saying he caused the boy’s serious injuries.
The boy was hospitalized Feb. 27 after an incident at their home in Dover.
Both parties were booked into the Stewart County Jail.
