A Melbourne mother, whose son has autism, has been found dead inside her home.
Elaine Pandilovski’s body was discovered at Mill Park on Tuesday night during a welfare check conducted by police.
Pandilovski’s estranged husband Zoran Pandilovski, 45, has been arrested and is under guard in hospital.
Colleagues raised the alarm after the special needs teacher’s aid failed to turn up to work at Plenty Parkland Primary School on Tuesday.
7NEWS understands Pandilovski’s sister searched the Mill Park property on Tuesday after being informed of her disappearance, but found no sign of her.
Police reportedly discovered the mother’s body under the house hours later.
Her husband was arrested after allegedly being involved in a car accident almost 60km away.
Pandilovski is being remembered as a devoted mother to her 10-year-old son, who has autism.
“She’s so beautiful… no-one deserves this,” friend Tammy Davis said.
Pandilovski’s aunty, Mary Yoannidis, shared a devastating tribute to the slain mother on social media.
“Your life was taken from us and we couldn’t help,” she wrote.
“Our lives will never be the same.”
Her son is being cared for by relatives.
