American Cancer Society’s virtual Relay For Life  is Saturday

Five local colleges will host the virtual Relay For Life of the Capital Region on their campuses starting at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10. 

Student volunteers from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, The College of Saint Rose, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Siena College and University at Albany campuses have teamed up to put on a combined experience. The online Facebook event will feature a mix of live and pre-recorded segments that celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, remember loved ones lost and empower those participating to continue the fight against cancer.

A luminaria ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Spring Fling online auction is April 18

SARATOGA SPRINGS  – Jewelry, golf packages, professional photography sessions and service coupons will be among the offerings at Franklin Community Center’s first Spring Fling online auction, which will be open for bidding noon Sunday, April 11 through noon, April 18.

Proceeds will support the programs and services of the center at 10 Franklin St., that has been providing basic necessities and services to less fortunate individuals and families in the area for more than 35 years.

Virtual fundraiser walk for Hospice is June 12

The Virtual Walk for Hospice ’21 will take place at 10:30 a.m. June 12.

Participants may register individually, as a team or a corporate team and walk in their neighborhoods, hiking path or a favorite park in memory of their loved ones.
