A Foley High School teacher was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of possession of obscene matter.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said Chris Bridges, 46, has been charged on three counts of possession of obscene matter and is being held in the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center on no bond.

Bridges has been at Foley High for 20 years, teaching U.S. history and dual enrollment, according to his teacher’s biography on the school website.

The arrest came after investigators from Baldwin County and the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant in the 20000 block of Oak Road East in Gulf Shores. Electronic devices were located that contained obscene matter, investigators said.

Gulf Shores police and the Gulf Coast Technology Center in Mobile assisted in the investigation.

WKRG is reporting that Baldwin County Superintendent Eddie Tyler said the system is aware of the arrest.

“Mr. Bridges has been placed on administrative leave. We are in contact with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and cannot speak further on the employee matter at this time,” Tyler said.
