SUMMIT, NJ – A total of four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by the Summit Public Schools at three of its campuses. The case confirmations came in a May 3 email message from the District sent via its Honeywell system.
The email, subsequently obtained by TAPinto Summit from a third party, stated, “The District has been notified of four COVID-19 cases: two at Summit High School, one at Franklin Elementary School, and one at Brayton Elementary School. Our Nursing Department, in collaboration with the Department of Health, conducted contact tracing for these cases. Potential close contacts at the High School, Franklin, and Brayton have been identified and notified.”
From September through the end of April, there have been 175 Summit Public School students and 53 staff that have tested positive for the virus.
