There are challenges that comes along with parenting and it can a struggle for so, but there’s help available.
JoAnn O’Rourke, a licensed clinical professional counselor with the Quincy SIU Center for Family Medicine says they’re offering free parenting sessions every Thursday for the next six weeks from 5:30p.m. to 6:30p.m.
O’Rourke says you will learn practical skills to enforce limits and helping your kids learn from their mistakes.
“One of the best ways to do that is when parents provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance and empathy and they allow there children’s behaviors and actions to do the teachings for them,” O’Rourke said.
She says they’re capping each session at 20 people to maintain social distancing and are requiring all attendees to wear masks.
She says it’s not too late to register for tomorrow’s session.
