Garfield man arrested on charge of possession of child pornography

A retired widower from Garfield was arrested Monday and charged with possession of child pornography, authorities stated.

Authorities investigated the home of Michael Yosco Jr., 70, on Friday and found that he used the Internet to view and possess sexually explicit files depicting prepubescent and pubescent children, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Yosco was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child pornography, the prosecutor’s office stated. He is scheduled for his first court appearance on Oct. 4.
