GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – In March of 2021, the Gloucester Township Police Department Investigation Bureau (Criminal Investigations Unit) received an ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) tip through National Center for Missing & Exploited Children , initiating a sexual abuse material investigation in collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations (Cherry Hill Office) and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office of New Jersey High Tech Crimes Unit.

On November 10th, 2021, a search warrant was executed by detectives from Gloucester Township Police Department, Camden County Prosecutor’s Officers, and Homeland Security Investigations and the Gloucester Township Police Special Response Team (SRT). Detectives seized multiple electronic devices from the residence to be analyzed for additional forensic evidence.

The accused, Francis McGrath Jr (65 YOA) of Gloucester Township, was charged with Distribution of Child Pornography (2nd degree) and Possession of Child Pornography (3rd degree). McGrath was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing. All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

The detectives of the Gloucester Township Police Department have gone through extensive training with the New Jersey State Police partnering with the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Tips in reference to child pornography are received from several different agencies and social media sites which are then disseminated to the local ICAC task forces. The Gloucester Township Police Department’s continuing local, state, and federal partnerships assist in arresting and prosecuting child predators.
